Friday Links

Here are some things going today, starting with more reaction to the new steel tariffs, and continuing with some abortion-related news:

From the Daily News, a Republican Senator believes that Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy will retire this summer.  (again, via LifeNews)

From LifeNews (instead of via that source), if abortion were illegal, would the foster care system be overwhelmed?  (One pro-abortion argument I used to hear was that if we don't allow abortion, we would be up to our figurative noses in children born outside of marriage.  If my understanding of recent history is correct, since Roe v. Wade, out-of-wedlock childbirth has greatly increased.  Thus, the legality and availability of abortion clearly did not mitigate out-of-wedlock childbirth.)

From the Express, former U.K. Prime Minister receives an award for promoting democracy, which has outraged some of his countrymen.

From Voice Of Europe, because he found too many ISIS-supporting Muslims in Europe, a Christian refugee returns to Syria.

From NBC News, gay refugees in Europe find the same problems they experienced back home.

From The Old Continent, some U.K. Labour Party members want to practice inclusion by excluding beer.

From Radio Poland, polsko-amerikaƄski sojusz jest tak mocny jak zawsze.  In English, the Polish-American alliance is as strong as ever.  (The story comes via Voice Of Europe.  I should point out that in Polish, proper adjectives are not capitalized as in English.  The Polish word sojusz, which means "alliance", appears to be a cognate of the Russian word soyuz, which means "union".)

From Russia Today, the E.U. is accused of acting like "gangsters" as the U.K. and Ireland try to negotiate their post-Brexit border policies.

From the NL Times, a Dutch parliamentarian calls upon the Minister of Home Affairs to explain why a survivor of the Charlie Hebdo massacre was not allowed to have protection.

From Bloomberg Businessweek, what's next for ISIS?

From Deutsche Welle, Trump might get to meet Rocket Man.

From Arutz Sheva, why do people convert to Islam?  (The last four stories come via The Religion Of Peace)

From National Review, "the growing attack on boys", written by a woman.

From the New York Post and the "are you kidding?" department, a 27-year-old man has racked up 64 driver's license suspensions.
